About Me

As the daughter of immigrant parents living in the U.S. I grew up watching them do their absolute best to ensure we had everything we needed, all while neglecting their own health and wellbeing at times. This has led me to further my knowledge and education in health and wellness in order to empower and assist my communities to live healthier and more sustainable lives through yogic instruction (asana - physical practice, meditation, pranayama and philosophy), personalized health and wellness coaching, and integrative nutritional coaching.

I am passionate about sharing the practice of yoga as a practice of liberation through a decolonized lens, embodying all 8 limbs of yoga, and honoring the roots of the practice. My father introduced yoga to me through meditation, when I was just 4 years old. Fast forward to my teens, I found the asanas (yoga's physical postures) at a time when I was grieving and felt an instant connection to peace whenever I practiced. Over the past 10 years I have built my yoga practice to include the remaining 6 limbs of yoga and have found yoga and yogic philosophy to be a resource and bridge for my own cultural reclamation of my South Asian roots. 

My influences:

My work is heavily influenced by my experiences as a chronic illness warrior, previous caregiver of a person with Alzheimer’s and type II diabetes, multicultural heritage, and more.

These experiences have impacted how I live my day to day life, how I view the world, and have pushed me to deepen my studies and knowledge about all things health and wellness, and drive me to empower others in similar positions so we can all live healthier and more peaceful lives.
